10 fresh okra, rinsed, dried and sliced down the middle
1 tablespoon bacon grease
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon pink Himalayan salt
Head a cast iron pan on your stove top over high heat and add in the bacon grase. Place okras with the seeds facing down in the pan and cook on high for 2 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional two minutes. Remove from heat and toss the okra into a glass or stainless steel bowl while steaming hot. Pour over the lemon juice and toss in the salt. Mix quickly to evenly distribute.
