The Health Benefits of Drinking Ginger and Citrus Water






Sometimes drinking water can get pretty boring! I have been making it a habit to add a little wedge of ginger along with lemon and limes to my water on the daily.

Here's how I've been making my easy concoction:


Ginger Citrus Water

  • 4 cups Water, Filtered

  • 1-1.4 oz Ginger Root Peeled and Mashed up

  • 1 Lemon, thinly sliced

  • 1 Lime, thinly sliced

As I add the limes and lemons to the water I give them a slight squeeze! I keep this stored in a GLASS container in my fridge and just sit away!




It makes it taste amazing, not to mention there are a ton of health benefits as well!


Combining the two is a sure fire way to boost your immune system -here's how!



1. Good for digestion


Drinking a glass of ginger water every day can help strengthen your digestive system and prevent indigestion, nausea, and heartburn.  Meddle in some mint leaves, lemon juice, and ginger water can relieve nauseau even during pregnancy!

2. Healthy hair and skin

Due to the antioxidants and vitamins present in ginger, drinking ginger water adds a natural glow to your skin. Moreover, the presence of Vitamin A and C improves the texture of your hair. It clears your blood and has antibacterial properties that help in treating and preventing skin diseases. Add in citrus as well and you get Vitamin C, which is a great antioxidant for neutralizing free radicals and boosting collagen production 3. Promotes weight loss High blood sugar levels can induce hunger and lead to overeating. Ginger water regulates the blood sugar levels and subsequently, controls the urge to eat. It improves the fat absorbing ability of the body which helps in weight loss. Lemon water can promote fullness, support hydration, boost metabolism and increase weight loss.



Keeping things simple when you're looking out for your health is always the best way to keep on track!
