Reducing Toxic Load In Your Home

The fact that there are so many system interrupting toxins in the world we encounter on the daily can be incredibly overwhelming. There's brands labeled "green" or "clean living" then we find out that label literally can be slapped on anything, and yet once again, we are disappointed.

There is one thing I can tell you that will make 100% difference in your life when it comes to products, food, makeup,... literally everything you consume.

LEARN TO READ YOUR INGREDIENT LABELS

Learn to identify what items are and the fact that companies can be incredibly sneaky!

Words like "Natural Fragrance" and "Natural Flavors" should be automatic red flags too. Just because something says "natural" doesn't mean anything (unfortunately!)

Here's 5 additional points to put into practice to begin making a cleaner switch for a healthier lifestyle for you and your family

UPGRADE YOUR WATER Purchase a water filter for your tap and shower. Filtering your tap water is much better than drinking bottled water. You can also upgrade your drinking water by having spring water delivered to your home in glass bottles. Avoid plastic water bottles whenever possible! A shower filter also helps to prevent toxic gases from filling the air and helps to add shine to your skin and hair. Drinking plenty of clean water is one of the best ways to cleanse your system!

AVOID BPAS Avoid plastic water bottles and plastic food packaging that contain BPAs. Store your food at home in glass Pyrex containers and carry a glass or copper water bottle. Bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates (found in plastics) are linked to cancer, endocrine problems, hormone imbalance and reproductive issues.

CLEAN GREEN Household cleaners are loaded with harmful chemicals that end up in the air and on surfaces every time you use them. This unnecessary exposure puts stress on your liver and leads to an array of health issues, from allergies to asthma. It has become quite easy to find great non-toxic, household cleaning products. You could always opt for making your own as well! Just mix a few tablespoons of vinegar with water and a few drops of your favorite essential oil – and voila!

BEAUTY DETOX The average woman uses about 12 personal care products a day! Most products contain hundreds of endocrine disruptors, which interfere with hormones. I usually say that if you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t be putting it on your body. Replace your cosmetics and perfumes with chemical-free options whenever possible! The most important products are the ones you are using constantly, like your shampoo, toothpaste, face creams and foundations. Replace your perfume with essential oils!

Shamless plug>>> www.theconsciousgoddessbox.com is my company I formed last year with my friend of over 30 years where we make all natural skin & self care products.

GO ORGANIC Choose organic whenever possible. Pesticide residues build up in our bodies, especially in our fat tissues and cause excess stress to the liver. Incorporate foods like chlorella, which removes heavy metals and helps to clear toxins from the system. Opt for local sourced farm to table restaurants when you can! Shop at your farmers market and support your local sources of clean food, products, and more!
